Questions I frequently ask myself.
Why? WHY!?
Writing can feel pointless when you’re only doing it to publish. Once I started writing to entertain my only reader (me), the thousands of hours I spent doing it (when literally any other activity would have been less mentally and emotionally exhausting) became much more fulfilling. Dare I say fun?
Is this the worst POS anyone has ever written?
I beat myself up with this question every day. But I think all writers must ask this, otherwise, they might not be thinking critically enough about their own work to allow for meaningful revision.
(Alternatively, is it awesome?)
The writing process is hard enough without believing in yourself!
Is my dog the cutest dog on Earth?
Yes.
Did I wear this yesterday?
Yes.
Is my shower haunted?
Yes.
